This is a Handwriting Without Tears lesson. Together, we build “Mat Man” piece by piece. We sing a song as we build him to help children learn where the body parts go and what they do. For example, we sang “Mat Man has one head, one head, one head. Mat Man has one head so that he can think.” When children learn how to build Mat Man, then they can easily approach drawing the same way.
