Reading sentences at group! We mixed up the word cards and gave them to the kids, asking them to make a specific sentence. They worked together to form the sentences, including the period!
Miss Vogt grew some extra big, organic spinach. We gave each child a raw leaf to try at group. We were very impressed-many children munched it down to the stem!
They each made a row of butterflies. They counted and compared who had more and by how many. They checked their work by counting again and again!

He is doing inset work, which is wonderful for fine motor. He traces the pentagon, then draws lines left to right across the shape, as close together as possible.

They are reading sight words together in the reading cube. We printed the words on large index cards and put them in mini photo albums to make sight word books.
At our morning group, we usually do the months of the year to the Macarana song/dance. Today, we asked the children if they wanted to do it one at a time. We were impressed that most knew the 12 months and hand motions, but could also get up in front of the group alone.
