Preschool

Overview

The Children’s Garden Montessori school year starts in September and finishes in June.  In general, we follow the Plymouth-Canton Schools calendar for holidays and vacations.  Weekly, preschoolers may attend either 2, 3, or 5 half days in the morning or 2, or 4 half days in the afternoon.  In addition to academics, our programs also include handwriting, nature, Spanish, cooking, sign language, hands-on science, art, music, technology, yoga, and more.

Half Day Program

The Montessori preschool program runs in both the morning or afternoon. We give children a unique educational Montessori experience, with an individualized, tailored program for each child as well as cooperative learning in our outdoor classroom.

Outdoors

Our gardens provide learning opportunities to extend what we do in the classroom. We have one acre of rolling country hills, with plenty of room for our large play area, school, and gardens.

The Child Gardening Area

We want children to know where food comes from besides “the store”. We have a child gardening area for outdoor lessons and activities. Together teachers and children plant, maintain, and harvest fruit, flowers, and vegetables to be used in the classroom. Spring is the time for planting. Harvesting takes place throughout the Summer and Fall.

The Display Garden Area

Our display garden area is passive extension to the classroom. In this case, children can easily observe flowers, birds, and butterflies through the seasons by merely looking out the window in the classroom.
