The rain kept us inside today, so we did a drum circle in the morning and afternoon. We listened to African music, and changed drums when the music stopped. We beat our drums fast and slow, with our eyes closed, with our pointer fingers, etc. The children had a blast!
They are reading alphabet books together.
We celebrated International Peace Day today by spreading peace through our school waving streamers and singing songs. Paz (peace in Spanish) sits at the peace table and reads a book about peace.
The new stepping stones on our playground are a hit! The children enjoyed the challenge of going across them, and they did a wonderful job of taking turns! We heard the children proudly say, “I can do this!”

Eric Carle inspired art work will be coming home next week. They are beautiful! The children layered paint, used shapes to make body parts, and worked hard on their cutting skills to make creations inspired by the wonderful illustrator, Eric Carle! The children were so EXCITED with their finished product because there were so many steps involved. Each one unique and beautiful!
