A newborn fawn in the field

The coolest thing happened today. Farmer Bill was working in the field next to the school, and he came to get us. We walked over, and he showed us a newborn fawn, curled up in the field waiting for its mom to come back with food. The children watched as he nudged it. The fawn jumped up, made a sheep sound (?), looked at us and ran a few feet into the tall grass to hide. What a special experience for the kids!
