Digging up a few carrots today in the garden. One of the children gently showed the children a poly bug he found, before releasing it in the garden. We love how our preschoolers already respect nature at such a young age!
We looked inside a pumpkin today!
He builds with magnets from the science shelf.
On our science shelf, we have a basket of GERMS! Actually, they are plush microbes-what tiny germs and bacteria would look like if greatly magnified and made into stuffed toys. Abby and Violet hold the stomach ache and flu microbe. They are reading a book about hand washing!
They observe a wolf spider we found.
Digging up potatoes in the garden this morning was hard work! Digging up potatoes is like finding a little treasure!
Mrs. Bertsch turned into an apple today to teach the children some apple facts, sing a song about apples in a tree, and read a story about a big apple.
We learned the parts of an apple, the life-cycle of an apple from seed to tree, and how the star of seeds inside is the same shape as the blossom. We tasted and graphed our favorite out of 3 kinds of apples, and talked about products made from apples.
Pluck seeds out of one of the giant sunflowers from our garden. It’s a fun fine motor activity!
The children love playing the game “Wildcraft-a Herbal Adventure”. They are learning to identify herbs, wildflowers, and other plants
Looking at our boy chicken (rooster) today. Love the little comb on top of its head!
